BUNSON and NYA are by Lino Codato, whose motivation and ethos is to investigate new applications of natural materials for contemporary furniture.

Water hyacinth and Yan lipao are abundant plants in tropical climates, the former being a native of South America that has become a weed and has invaded watercourses in the southern United States and other warm climates.

Harvested, prepared, and dried, it transforms into an excellent weaving material.

Yan lipao, a fern vine, is harvested from the jungles of Thailand. Its outer pith peeled off then polished and smoothed before weaving.

As a traditional material for basketry, it ensures that a skilled labor pool is available for creating other artifacts.
